James Sullivan Nashville TN Death:- On July 24, 2024, a plane crash near the EAA AirVenture grounds in Oshkosh resulted in the deaths of Sean Tommervik, 37, of Philadelphia, and James Sullivan, 32, of Brooklyn New York.
The crash, which occurred about 2 miles south of the AirVenture scene, was reported by air traffic control at Wittman Regional Airport around 12:15 p.m. on the first day of the 71st AirVenture event. The plane was found engulfed in flames.
The crash scene was attended by multiple emergency services including the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, local fire departments, and the National Transportation Safety Board. Brian Bradley, who owned the field where the crash occurred, was alerted by his agronomist, Dennis Klumpers, who witnessed the flames.
The incident happened during a week-long event that attracts around 500,000 aviation enthusiasts and showcases various aircraft. Last year, a similar tragedy occurred when a helicopter and a gyrocopter collided during the event, resulting in two deaths and two injuries.
In the wake of this tragic incident, we extend our deepest condolences to the families affected by this heart-wrenching loss. As they grapple with the indescribable pain of bidding farewell to their loved ones, we share in their sorrow and stand in solidarity during this time of profound grief.
