On Saturday afternoon, a semi-truck crashed on Interstate 270 East near Sawmill Road on Columbus’ north side, critically injuring one person. All eastbound lanes are now closed.
Just after 4:15 p.m., first responders were dispatched in response to a crash complaint. According to Columbus Division of Fire Battalion Chief Jeff Geitter, the collision involved a semi-truck hitting a wall or barrier. According to Fire Battalion Chief Jeff Geitter, one person was evacuated to Riverside Methodist Hospital in serious condition.
All I-270 eastbound lanes are currently closed. It is not certain how long the road will be closed.
