I-87 Car Accident – Four people were hospitalized in a two-car crash on the New York State Thruway on Wednesday, according to information from New York State Police.
Police said at approximately 2:55 a.m., troopers were called after reports of a crash on I-87 northbound, south of Exit 19.
An investigation determined that Elijah L. Bady, 21, of Berlin, New Jersey, driving a 2020 Nissan Maxima with one passenger, “failed to stay in his lane,” striking a 2024 Honda, driven by Ganesh Persaud, 51, of Schenectady, with three passengers, police said.
According to police, the crash caused both vehicles to exit the roadway. Persaud and the three passengers in the vehicle were transported to HealthAlliance Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Bady was given tickets for vehicle and traffic violations.
