Halifax Stabbing: Child, 6, Stabbed in Downtown Halifax, Police Investigating Shocking Attack

Halifax Stabbing – A six-year-old child is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being stabbed in downtown Halifax on Sunday afternoon.

According to Halifax Regional Police, officers responded to a distress call at approximately 1:20 p.m. on the 1900 block of Barrington Street.

They discovered the young victim suffering from multiple stab wounds and emergency responders quickly transported the child to the IWK Health Centre for urgent medical care.

Authorities arrested a 19-year-old woman at the scene. She is facing charges of aggravated assault. Investigators have stated that the suspect and the child are not believed to be known to each other, making the attack particularly alarming.

The Integrated Criminal Investigation Division has taken charge of the case, working to determine the circumstances surrounding the violent incident. Law enforcement is urging anyone who may have video footage or information related to the attack to contact them at 902-490-5020.
