Griffin Meehan Death Connecticut – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Griffin “Griff” Patrick Meehan, a cherished athlete, family man, and friend.

Born in Hartford, Connecticut on July 16, 1989, Griffin unexpectedly passed away on September 4, 2024. His sudden departure has left a deep void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Griffin Meehan’s legacy is firmly etched in the annals of Keene State College lacrosse history. As the best player in the program’s history, Griff’s achievements on the field were nothing short of extraordinary.

He was a two-time College All-American and set both the single-season points record (105) and single-season goals record (69) at Keene State. Griff also earned the title of LEC Player of the Year twice, led his team to two LEC championships, and was named LEC Tournament Most Outstanding Player on two occasions.

In 2010, he led all of NCAA lacrosse with an impressive 5.53 points per game. Beyond the statistics, Griff’s passion for the game and his dedication to his team were unparalleled.

Survived by
Raised in Simsbury, Connecticut, Griffin was more than his athletic accolades. He was a devoted family man who cherished his loved ones deeply. Griffin is survived by his mother and father, Jennifer Heil Meehan and Michael Meehan; his partner, Samantha Tavantzis; and his beautiful daughter, Ryan McKenzie Meehan. He also leaves behind his grandparents, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and the Tavantzis family. As an only child, Griffin’s friends were like siblings to him, and his bond with them was profound.

Griffin’s impact extended far beyond his impressive sports career. Known for his generosity and kindness, he had a remarkable ability to touch the lives of those around him. Whether it was offering his support, sharing his enthusiasm for music, or engaging in acts of service, Griffin lived with an open heart.

He was a top-performing senior account executive at EverQuote and was known for his vibrant personality and unwavering support for his friends and family. His proudest accomplishment was becoming a father, a role he embraced with immense pride and love.

Celebration of Life
Griffin’s life will be honored with a Celebration of Life at Bloomfield Congregational Church, located at 10 Wintonbury Avenue in Bloomfield, at 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 22, 2024. This gathering will serve as a tribute to the remarkable person he was and the enduring impact he had on those around him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Bloomfield Congregational Church at 10 Wintonbury Avenue, Bloomfield, Connecticut. These contributions will support the church and continue Griffin’s legacy of giving. Griffin Meehan’s passing leaves an indelible mark on all who knew him. His contributions to the world of lacrosse, his dedication to his family, and his boundless compassion will be remembered with love and respect. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time. Griff will be dearly missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift those he left behind.
