Christopher Petty of Wells, Maine, has passed away unexpectedly, he was said to have died from the injuries in a motor vehicle accident on Friday, September 6, 2024.
He was 39 years old. Christopher particularly relished travel with his family, ice fishing, and hunting. All of his attention was directed towards his family and his sons.
He was the main coach of his children’s T-Ball teams and the assistant flag-football coach. Chris was a devoted family man, a brilliant engineer, a generous, community-minded neighbour, a New England outdoorsman, a spreadsheet creator, a music enthusiast, a joyful prankster, a great friend, and the very best dad ever. He was also a gourmet beer drinker, a lighthouse traveler in search of adventure, and a music enthusiast.

A GoFundMe page has been created by Dawn Cooley to help with the funeral and memorial expenses. According to the page, he was the husband of Kristen (Hatton) Petty and the father of Noah (7) and Lucas (5). Christopher and Kristen encountered each other at the United States Merchant Marine Academy. At that age, Cooley distinctly recalls meeting him as her dance partner at Parents Weekend, where it was evident that he was already in love with her.
Christopher was an exceptional husband, father, and son. The family would be extremely grateful if you would be willing to contribute to his final expenses. Your prayers and intentions are also immensely valued.
Funeral Plans
A time of visitation will be held Saturday, September 14 from 2pm to 3:30pm immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market Street, North Berwick, ME. Hawaiian shirts encouraged.
