Garfield High School Shooting: Teacher hurt, lockdown in the Central District of Seattle

Garfield High School Shooting Investigations: The Seattle Police Department is investigating a shooting near Garfield High School in the Central District of Seattle on Thursday. According to law enforcement agencies, a teacher was shot in the chest near Garfield High School.

Police Investigations
A victim has been transported to an area hospital in critical condition following a shooting incident at 23rd Ave. and E. Alder St. near Garfield High School.

According to law enforcement agencies, residents are to avoid the scene due to police investigations. Law enforcement did not clarify whether is manhunt for a suspect involved in the incident is active.

SPD released the following update on Facebook following the ongoing incident: “Seattle Police are investigating a shooting in the 400 block of 23rd Avenue. The school was placed on lockdown. Please be safe and avoid the area.”

Seattle Police Department is urging anyone with information to contact the investigators. The identity of the injured victim was not released by the investigators. This is a developing story.
