Freedom Double Homicide: Gary Neil Bradt Obituary, Timothy Lane Wilcox found dead in NW Oklahoma town of Freedom; 3 suspects arrested

Freedom Double Homicide – Three suspects were arrested, and authorities identified the victims of Thursday’s double homicide that happened in the northwestern Oklahoma town of Freedom.

Around 4 a.m. on Thursday, Woods County deputies responded to a home near Saddlehorn Drive and Dusty Trail in Freedom after receiving reports of possible gunshots.

When deputies arrived, they found a victim dead and a second in critical condition. Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation officials said life-saving measures were performed, but the second victim died at the scene.

OSBI officials identified the victims as 70-year-old Gary Neil Bradt and 19-year-old Timothy Lane Wilcox.

Law enforcement found and detained three suspects for questioning, and they were later arrested on complaints of first-degree murder. The OSBI said all three – a 23-year-old man, a 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl – were booked into the Woodward County Jail.

The suspects’ names has not been released because formal charges have not been filed.

The double homicide has left residents of Freedom, a town of about 200 people, in shock and disbelief.

“Freedom will never be the same again,” said Nancy Harger, who lives in the neighborhood where this happened.

Jesse Schroeder, a Freedom town trustee, said, “I’m hoping this isn’t something that has a strong imprint on the community because we’re known for so much more.”

In the wake of this tragic incident, we extend our deepest condolences to the families affected by this heart-wrenching loss. As they grapple with the indescribable pain of bidding farewell to their loved ones, we share in their sorrow and stand in solidarity during this time of profound grief.
