Felicia Cooper New Orleans LA Death – The police department in the Leonidas neighbourhood of New Orleans has opened an internal inquiry into a terrible occurrence that left two people dead in what seems to be a murder-suicide.
According to neighbors, a man with a history of domestic abuse claimed shot and killed his wife after calling the police multiple times and getting no response.
Although the NOPD acknowledged receiving a report of “shots fired” at 6:51 a.m., confirmation of the incident was not received until 8:04 a.m. The pair was not reachable by the officers who had been deployed to the apartment the night before.
The neighbourhood is now worried about the availability of emergency services due to the delayed response. Around five in the morning, Felicia Cooper’s family in New Orleans, Louisiana, received a frightening call informing them that their cousin might be held captive.
When police arrived at the Monroe Street home early on Saturday morning, they discovered Felicia and her husband had both died from gunshot wounds.
They identified the deceased husband as Raymond Cooper and mentioned that neighbours had reported suspicious activity to police. The family alleges that numerous calls for assistance were placed from inside the house, but no police officer answered.
The NOPD confirmed the shooting around 8:04 a.m., after acknowledging receiving early reports of the event shortly before 7 a.m. According to Fleming and Dillon, the victims weren’t found until after more family members showed up and went inside the house.
According to the family’s evidence, around 6:16 a.m., neighbours started phoning 911. They think that the terrible result would have been different if the cops had responded more quickly.
