An accident near Colby, Kansas, on Friday evening killed one youngster and injured five others. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that a Ford F250 pickup truck travelling northbound on County Road 21 near County Road CC drove off the road and into a tree row about 9:45 p.m.
After the crash, the six-person car stopped upright. Emma Brungardt, 19, of Blue Rapids died at the scene. Her abrupt death has devastated family and friends of Emma, a cherished community member. The crash injured the driver and four 18–20-year-old passengers. All received care at a local hospital. Their injuries were not life-threatening.
