Texas officials requested the assistance of the United States Marshal Fugitive Task Force in their investigation. Martinez is rumored to possess a silver Grand Cherokee Jeep. Police from Blackwell and Newkirk were contacted, and a mob of officers assembled at the border.
At 12:08 p.m., Sanchez came to a stop at the Wellington intersection of Highways 81 and 160, according to authorities. Martinez and the second defendant, 24-year-old Deja Shanta Burt Roberts, were arrested by Wellington police at 12:28 p.m. and booked into Sumner County Jail.
