The hiring of Dustin by West Metro Fire & Rescue in 2016 was a momentous occasion that marked a big advancement in his professional career. The time he spent working for West Metro Fire & Rescue gave him the opportunity to further develop his firefighting skills and to make contributions to his community that were both novel and significant. His commitment shone through in each and every call that he answered to and in each and every fire that he fought.

In this capacity, he was actively involved with the union and provided assistance to his fellow firefighters. Over the course of his four years with Local 1309, he shown his dedication to both the profession and his fellow employees.
By joining the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) in June of 2020, Dustin decided to take on a new task and take on a new challenge. In spite of the fact that he was stationed at Fire Station 93 in East Palmdale, he continued to serve with the same level of commitment and devotion that had been characteristic of his whole career.
