Dustin Ceynar Arnegard ND Death – A distress call was received on the evening of July 7, 2024, at around 7:37 PM Central Daylight Time (CDT), regarding a residential structure fire that was located north of Arnegard, North Dakota.
The McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident. According to the parties who reported the incident, the residence was completely consumed by flames, and two individuals had suffered major burns. However, three other members of the family were able to flee the fire without suffering any consequences.
The two individuals who were injured were named by the deputies as Dustin Ceynar, who was 48 years old, and Clay Ceynar, who was 19 years old. Both patients were initially taken by ambulance to the McKenzie County Hospital, and then they were airlifted to a medical institution located outside of McKenzie County for more advanced medical care that could potentially save their lives.
The Investigations Division of the McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office is now conducting an investigation into the fire. They are receiving support from the North Dakota Fire Marshal’s Office, the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation (NDBCI), and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).
The McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office would like to convey their appreciation to the numerous fire departments and emergency services that responded to the situation in a timely manner.
Watford City Fire Department, Arnegard Fire Protection District, McKenzie County Fire Department, Keene Volunteer Fire/Rescue, Alexander Fire Department, Twin Valley Fire Department, McKenzie County Road Department, and the McKenzie County Ambulance are some of the organizations that fall under this category.
During this trying time, the spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office offered the Ceynar family their most sincere thoughts and prayers. Despite the tragedy that has befallen the city, the community has shown that it is strong and resilient via the collective effort of the emergency response teams.
