Destiny Hamilton Obituary – On Thursday, May 9th, 2024, at approximately 9:00 am, the Marsh Harbor Police Station received information about a suicide incident on Guanna Cay, Abaco.
Officers proceeded to investigate and arrived at the scene around 10:00 am. They found a two-story structure with yellow and white trim, and were directed to the second floor, to a North Eastern bathroom.
In the shower stall, they discovered a woman with brown skin, wearing a black dress, lying in a pool of blood. Next to her right hand was a black and silver kitchen knife. Upon examination, officers found a deep laceration to her wrist.
According to her husband, Destiny Hamilton, born on October 1st, 1996, and a Bahamian national living in New York, there was an argument between them sometime between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm on May 8th, 2024.
He left and spent the night alone in Bakers Bay due to his wife’s tendency to become violent, even attacking him with a knife. He returned home around 8:30 am on May 9th, 2024, and found Destiny’s body after a friend, Melannie, whom he met the previous day, asked about her. He checked the bathroom, found it locked, and used a crowbar to enter, discovering Destiny on the shower floor. He then contacted his friend Herbert Collins, who came to the residence.
A friend of Destiny, who invited her to the Bahamas, mentioned that they had attended college together in Rome, Italy. She stated that everything was fine until Destiny and Robert had an argument over the phone around 7:00 pm on May 8th, 2024.
Destiny became aggressive and threw knives at Robert before he left the residence. Destiny was seen coming and going, with the last sighting around 9:00 pm.
On the morning of May 9th, 2024, she texted Robert, thinking they were together and everything was fine. Robert clarified that he was not with her and went to check the residence, where he found her unresponsive in the shower, bleeding.
Feel free to leave a message of condolences and prayers for the family and friends of the deceased in the comments section as it will go a long way for them during this difficult time.
