Tyler Walsh Death – An investigation is currently being conducted by the Ocean City Police Department into a hit-and-run accident that took place on Friday evening and involved a motorbike and a pedestrian who was a teenager.
At approximately 9:35 p.m. on September 13th, the collision took place at the intersection of 12th Street and Philadelphia Avenue, according to the Ocean City Police Department.
Officers from the Orange County Police Department arrived on the site and discovered a young person, aged 16, who was suffering from injuries that were considered to be life-threatening.
Ocean City Emergency Services workers who were present at the site provided medical care to the adolescent. They were then transported to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma in Baltimore, Maryland, via helicopter by Maryland State Police Aviation, as stated by the Baltimore County Police Department.
Currently, the adolescent is in critical condition with injuries that pose a significant risk to their life. The preliminary inquiry found that the young person was crossing the street at 12th Street and Philadelphia Avenue while using a crosswalk that was clearly marked.
At this particular moment, a motorbike was ‘travelling southbound on Philadelphia Ave towards 12th Street at a high rate of speed, according to witnesses and camera footage, before striking the juvenile pedestrian’.
Loved ones have identified the victim as Tyler Walsh. Loved ones are cordially invited to Stephen Decatur Woman’s Soccer on Monday, September 16th, to demonstrate their backing for Tyler Walsh.
The JV/V soccer contests for girls will commence at 4:00 p.m. The Walsh Family will receive the entirety of the revenue generated by the concession stand. Although, there are unconfirmed claims at this time that Walsh had succumbed to his injuries.
After further investigation, it was determined that the rider of the motorbike was Michael Scot Schneider, who was 51 years old and from Ballston Spa, New York. After that, Schneider allegedly lost control of his motorcycle, which caused him to collide with a parked motorcycle and a motor vehicle, causing both of them to sustain significant damage.
According to the Orange County Police Department, he fled the site following the incident. The officers conducted a thorough search of the downtown area of Ocean City and distributed a description of Schneider to the members of the public.
According to the Ocean City Police Department, Schneider was found by the Maryland State Police at the Park and Ride in West Ocean City several hours after the initial report of his capture. In addition to displaying symptoms of impairment, Schneider was found to have sustained multiple injuries that were consistent with the collision that took place, according to the officers. The injuries he sustained were sent to Tidal Health Peninsula Regional for treatment, and he was brought there.
The OCPD reports that “Due to the injuries to the victim being life-threatening, a search warrant was obtained to collect a blood sample to determine Schneider’s alcohol concentration.” Schneider was taken to the Ocean City Police Department after he was discharged from the medical facility. There, he was charged with “twelve traffic offences,” including driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failing to remain at the scene of an accident that resulted in bodily injury or death. Schneider was taken into custody without bond after being seen by a commissioner of the Maryland District Court. Schneider has been moved to the Worcester County Jail, according to the authorities.
