Who was Tom Brown Jr?
The Tom Brown Jr. Tracker School is maintained by Brown, who was born on January 29, 1950, and offers tracking and wilderness survival courses. Brown’s companion Rick was trained from an early age by Rick’s grandfather, “Stalking Wolf,” who was thought to be of Lipan Apache ancestry.
Following the death of Rick and Stalking Wolf when Brown was seventeen, Brown worked at a variety of jobs for ten years to fund his passion for the outdoors.
After assisting in the search for a criminal suspect in New Jersey, Brown attracted national notice; however, this resulted in a $5 million lawsuit due to the false accusation.
Career
He carried on growing his tracking business and providing services to find fugitives, animals, and missing people. His Tracker School offers workshops on Plains Indian ceremonies such as the sweat lodge and vision quest. It is situated in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey and also has classes in California.
Brown has been married three times: first to Debbie Brown, who he had two children, Coty Tracker Brown and River Scout Brown; second to Judy Duck Ford, with whom he had one kid, Tom Brown III; and third to Celeste Brown.
