Who was Ritch Campbell?
In addition to being a well-liked educator in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Ritch Campbell was also the cherished son of Janie Campbell and Butch Campbell, who served as the chairperson of the Murfreesboro City School Board.
He had a deep affection for and a deep respect for his family, particularly his wife Guen and his daughter Alanna. According to Chris, he was a devoted brother. The teacher that he was was truly exceptional. He had the ability to turn virtually every lesson into a song.
He was such a wonderful man who had an impact on the lives of so many people. I had the pleasure of learning from Ritch. The manner in which he was able to connect with kindergarten students and teach them concepts that were beyond their grade level through the use of songs and by making learning experience enjoyable was incredibly motivational. The lives of children and their families were unquestionably improved as a result of Mr. Ritch’s presence.
About Butch Campbell
(Chair) Mr. Campbell began his teaching career at Murfreesboro City Schools. During his career, he served 31 years as principal of Walter Hill Elementary in the Rutherford County School System. Mr. Campbell has served as the official basketball clock operator for MTSU since 1977 and was elected to the TSSAA Hall of Fame in 2012. He was elected to the board in 2008 and is serving his third term.
