Death: Makena Doane, Longtime resident of Wellsboro, PA July 29

Makena Lyn Doane, 25, of Wellsboro, unexpectedly passed away at her home on Monday, July 29, 2024, along with her daughter, Jensyn Mae Doane. She was the daughter of Tonya S. Fousnought-Carleton and Terry L. Carleton, and was born in Wellsboro on March 21, 1999.

She worked as a server and bartender at the Wellsboro Moose Lodge after graduating from PA Cyber School in 2017. She was proud to be a stay-at-home mother to her two little boys above all else.

Kena enjoyed being outside, riding the Razor, and kayaking. She loved to go on adventures and indulged in occasional ink therapy sessions. She cherished her canines and her boys. With a bold, carefree, and wild nature, Kena never had a plan; instead, she would figure everything out as she went along.

She was the bright spot for everyone, with a charming grin and infectious laugh. She was always there to help and put the needs of others before her own, and she never showed or discussed her troubles.

She didn’t preserve enough for herself despite showing so much affection to others. Her maternal grandparents, George and Wilda Carleton, passed away before her. On Saturday, August 3, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, Carleton Funeral Home, 11470 Route 6, Wellsboro, will host a Celebration of Makena’s Life. At 3:00 PM, there will be a memory-sharing period.

Both brothers now have individual accounts at Edward Jones, located at 23 East Avenue in Wellsboro. You may help Tyson Raige Carleton or Watson Murphy Doane in their future endeavors by sending a check made out to either of them.

Send correspondence to the aforementioned address, drop it off at the Wellsboro Edward Jones office, or donate money at First Citizens Community Bank in Brandon’s honor for Tyson and Watson.
