Death; John Hughan Norwell, MA, 14-year-old boy killed in car accident, Peter Richmond

John Hughan Death – John Hughan of Norwell, Massachusetts, tragically died. He died from severe injuries sustained in the accident.

According to authorities, an 81-year-old Cape Cod man has been accused in relation to a deadly crash that occurred on August 30 and left two other people critically injured in addition to the 14-year-old kid dead.

According to Yarmouth police, Peter Richmond of Yarmouth Port is accused of motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation. The allegations follow an investigation by accident reconstruction teams and Yarmouth police that lasted for more than a week.

John Hughan, a resident of Norwell, was identified as the 14-year-old victim. Hughan and his uncle were reportedly working on a boat trailer on the side of North Main Street when the collision happened, according to the police.

The teenager was tragically injured when Richmond’s 2020 Cadillac Escalade struck the trailer from behind, according to the police. Hughan and the others had pulled over to fix the trailer, which was immobilized by a broken axle. Numerous 911 calls about the collision near the intersection of North Main Street and Great Western Road were received by police at around one p.m.

Hughan was declared deceased on the spot. Two more people were brought to Cape Cod Hospital with critical wounds. Authorities reported after the incident that Richmond stayed at the scene and did assist with the police investigation.

Although there have been prior attempts to apply traffic-calming techniques, locals believe more work needs to be done. although the incident is still under investigation, Eye witnesses are requested to present information to the police to assist them adequately decipher the incident.
