Alexandre Habel Accident – Alexandre Habel, a 17-year-old football player from Sherbrooke Cégep, passed away tragically in a car accident. He was announced dead in a tweet on X by Phœnix de Sherbrooke that reads:
“The Phoenix wishes to offer its most sincere condolences to the family of Alexandre Habel, his friends and of course his teammates and all the staff of the Volontaires Football. Our thoughts are with you during these difficult times.”
Alexandre Habel was a second-year player with the Volontaires du Cégep de Sherbrooke football team. As a result of the tragedy that took place on the evening of Tuesday to Wednesday, it is thought that the young man, who was 18 years old, passed away simultaneously.
According to the reports, the victim’s vehicle flipped over multiple times. An investigation is currently being conducted in order to shed light on the ways in which the tragedy has affected people.
Jean-Philippe Gauthier, the head coach of the college football team, has confirmed that many support mechanisms have already been put into place to support players, coaches, and team personnel.
The shock is substantial within the Volunteers team, but the coach has also confirmed that these measures have already been put into place. Although it is reported that the second person in the automobile had critical injuries, it is not believed that his life is in danger. In addition, he is a member of the Volontaires, a team that he joined during the winter of last year.
