David Willett Death – Very sad news this morning, my longtime boat mate David Willett, who was a well-known racer across the nation, is heading to the major race above.
He will be missed. Here are pictures of David Willett at the 2023 IMPBA Gas Nationals in Huntsville, Alabama, when he accepted the very coveted Johnny Ber Memorial Award.
David Willett, a dear friend and amazing model boater, passed away today and joined the great race above. David had been a member of the youth choir, an altar server, a Eucharistic Minister, an active youth group leader, and a longtime parishioner of St. Mary Immaculate Church. He was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, founded by Kathy Kazmar.
After September 11, 2001, he felt compelled to enlist in the US Navy. Following his honorable discharge, he earned degrees from Joliet Junior College and Governors State University.
When David was in college, he enjoyed working at Outback Steakhouse. Even though he was a die-hard White Sox fan, he was happy to oversee the Captain Morgan Club at Wrigley Field for two summers after graduation. Jack Wols and Betsy Petrovic were especially generous, taking him on a weekly drive for his healthcare services at Northwestern University.
Feel free to leave a message of condolences and prayers for the family and friends of the deceased in the comments section as it will go a long way for them during this difficult time.
