David Handelman CNN Death:- David Handelman, a print journalist turned TV writer and producer, died on Friday, August 15, 2024.

He contributed to a variety of series on major networks such as CBS, NBC, ABC, HBO, the CW, and CNN. He passed away at the age of 63. There was no cause of death for David Handelman.

He was born on April 23, 1961, in Scarsdale, New York. Handelman made his television debut by co-writing a spec script for “Larry Sanders” with Mark McKinney of Kids in the Hall.

Aaron Sorkin was delighted with their work and asked them to co-write a freelancing episode for “Sports Night,” which resulted in the season 1 episode “Sword of Orion.”

The next year, Handelman created the season 2 episode “The Sweet Smell of Air” based on a tough personal experience interviewing Michael Jordan. Handelman later joined the writing team of “The West Wing” for its fourth season, which was also Sorkin’s final. Throughout his career, he worked on all four of Sorkin’s television series.

Handelman also wrote and produced for two daytime chat shows: the beloved but short-lived CBS series “Love Monkey,” season six of “One Tree Hill,” CNN’s Eliot Spitzer show, “Good Morning America,” season two of ABC’s “Nashville,” the DirecTV series “Rogue,” and CNN’s “Smerconish.”

Before his television career, Handelman worked as a staff writer for Rolling Stone, where he covered a wide range of topics, including the Beastie Boys, comedian Sam Kinison, folk musician Howard Finster, and the AIDS activist organization ACT UP.

He edited two “HOT” issues as well as two comedy-focused issues. He also worked as an arts editor and writer for Vogue and contributed to The New York Times, New York Magazine, GQ, Details, Premiere, and Spy.
