David Gest Accident: New Lenox, IL man died in paragliding crash at Flight Park State Recreation

David Gest Accident: A 56-year-old man died in a tragic paragliding accident at Flight Park State Recreation Area on the south side of Point of the Mountain on Sunday.

The New Lenox, IL resident passed away in the crash that happened around 10 A.M. in Spanish Fork, UT.

The Utah County Sheriff’s Office identified the man as David Gest. He was a lover of life, athletic, and a motorcyclist. According to reports, it wasn’t Gests’s first paragliding. He took the fun but often dangerous activity for fun. He will be missed by his entire family, friends, and community at large.

Utah County Sheriff’s Office: On Sunday, 10/6/24, at about 10:20 AM, 56-year-old David Gest, of New Lenox, IL, crashed while paragliding at Flight Park State Recreation Area on the south side of Point of the Mountain. He was flown by an Air Methods helicopter to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray where he later died of his injuries.
