A Connecticut State Police died after a car accident on Interstate 84 in Southington on Thursday, 30 May 2024. According to law enforcement agencies, Interstate 84 East and West in Southington are closed to traffic following the tragic vehicle crash today.

Who Died on I-84?
Police said a Connecticut State Police was pronounced deceased following the incident that happened on the Danbury I-84 West area of exit 8. The trooper’s identity was not released. The driver was identified as a male in his 20s. He was transported to the Danbury Hospital where he succumbed to his injury.

Police Release Preliminary Investigation Details
Following the incident, all lanes of I-84 East between exits 31 and 32 and I-84 West between exits 31 and 30 have been closed due to the investigations. Law enforcement agencies say a vehicle driven by a male veered off the road, struck a barrier, and killed a state trooper.
