LeBeau embarked on the risky endeavor of leaping 40 feet over Highway 40 in Grand County, near Winter Park. However, he failed to clear the width of the roadway and landed on the highway pavement, where a bystander discovered him unconscious and not breathing.

Despite the bystander’s efforts to administer CPR and emergency calls made to the local dispatch center around 3 p.m., LeBeau was pronounced deceased by first responders upon their arrival at the scene.

Preliminary investigations revealed that LeBeau was attempting a high-risk skiing stunt, lacking the necessary speed and distance to clear the highway pavement safely, as stated by the Grand County Sheriff’s Office. Despite wearing a helmet and other protective gear, the outcome proved fatal.

The incident disrupted traffic on Highway 40 in both directions as emergency responders tended to the scene. LeBeau’s childhood friend, Devin Shirk, initiated a GoFundMe page to support LeBeau’s family with funeral expenses.
Describing LeBeau as a joyful and kind individual who cherished skiing since childhood, Shirk aimed to alleviate the financial burden on the grieving family.
