Columbus Double Shooting: Jacob Coons died from injuries, Police investigate shooting on South Glenwood Avenue

Columbus police are investigating a double shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in the city’s west side. Officers responded to a call about gunfire in the 300 block of South Glenwood Avenue shortly after 1:40 a.m.

Upon arrival, they discovered two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Tragically, one of the victims, identified as Jacob Coons, succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other victim sustained critical injuries and was immediately transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment. Detectives from the Columbus Division of Police are currently working to establish a motive for the shooting and identify any potential suspects.

The investigation is ongoing, and further details, including the identity of the injured victim, are expected to be released as they become available.
