Columbia Double Homicide: Dominic Goodwin died, Xavier Hopkins killed in Leesburg Road in Columbia on July 9
A drive-by shooting in Richland County has left two people dead and one injured. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident, which occurred around 10:00 pm on Tuesday, July 9th, in the 300 block of Hickory Ridge Drive, near Padgett Road.
Two individuals were pronounced dead at the scene. A third person was discovered inside a residence and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of multiple injuries considered non-life-threatening.
Details remain scarce in the double homicide investigation. However, investigators recovered shell casings from the scene.
Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford identified the victims on Wednesday afternoon as Dominic Goodwin, 22, and Xavier J. Hopkins, 22, both from Columbia.
