Christina Luciano’s Death, School District of Philadelphia Teacher Tragically Died From Cancer at 50
Christina Luciano Death: The Philadelphia, PA community is mourning the death of a longtime teacher and mother who passed away Friday, 15, Dec. 2023. The 50-year-old woman died after battling a rapidly spreading cancer. According to the family member, Christina Luciano was loved and cherished by everyone in the family.
William M. Meredith School wrote; “We are devastated to hear of the passing of Christina Luciano on December 15, 2023. The entire community is feeling this deep loss because Christina touched so many lives, at Meredith and beyond. Her devotion to the Meredith community, teachers, staff, and families was unlike anything else. Christina was the embodiment of a Meredith star – and she lit up every room with her beautiful smile & generous spirit.”
Her commitment to serving the students, staff, and families by working with the Meredith HSA and serving as its president was unprecedented. Our hearts and all our love go out to her sons Paul and Luca, her family and friends. As we grieve this tremendous loss as a school & community, we will work to coordinate with her family and closest friends about how to honor this amazing woman.
On December 15, 2023, Christina Luciano departed from this life, leaving behind loving memories and a legacy. Her entire world revolved around Paul and Luca, her adored children. Christina, who carried on her family’s strength and grace, was the beloved daughter of Maria (née Abbruzzi) and the late John Luciano.
Her brothers, John Luciano and Rocco (Kristin) Luciano will miss her terribly, and Olivia, Giulia, Emma, John John, Gianna, Gabriella, and Rocco Luciano will all remember her with great affection as a wonderful aunt. Christina’s warmth and love had a lasting impression on everyone who knew her, including her aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
On Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 9 AM to 11 AM, family and friends are welcome to pay their respects. A funeral mass will be held at Saint Paul’s Church, 923 Christian St., Philadelphia, PA 19147, at 11:30 AM. Private burial will take place. To commemorate Christina’s love of reading and education, the family has asked that contributions be sent to Mighty Writers, located at 901 S. 9th St. Unit 622, Philadelphia, PA 19148, instead of flowers.
