Chris Karns Accident: Dr. Christopher Karns, DO Erie, PA, Emergency Medicine Specialist died after tree limb fell on tractor in Greene Township

Chris Karns Accident: Law enforcement agencies say a 38-year-old father of three died in a tractor-involved accident on Wednesday. The deadly accident happened just after noon in the 2900 block of Brown Rd. near Sampson Rd.

Authorities said Chris passed away after a tree branch fell on his tractor while he was clearing the grass off his property. His death was ruled as accidental. Chris Karns was a resident doctor at Titusville Area Hospital and a physician at Coventina Day and Medical Spa.

Who Was Chris Karns?
Dr. Karns was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania, and received his undergraduate degree from Allegheny College before enrolling at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine to pursue his medical degree.

He returned to Erie to complete his residency in Emergency Medicine at St. Vincent Hospital, where he honed his procedural abilities, which he now enjoys teaching his trainees.

He is passionate about medical aesthetics and works hard to help clients achieve their skincare goals. His approachable personality relaxes and reassures his patients.

His wife, Dr. Dawn Beemer Karns is a native of Meadville, Pennsylvania, who has spent time on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. She earned an undergraduate degree from Allegheny College before pursuing a medical degree at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

After completing her residency in Family Medicine at St. Vincent Hospital, she continued to see her own patients while still lecturing as a faculty member, offering both inpatient and outpatient care. She oversaw the residency wellness and treatment curriculum for eight years and is very interested in skin health.
