Chelsie Sonneborn Franklin IL Death – America Ambulance EMT Chelsie Sonneborn of Franklin, Illinois has sadly passed away. She died on Thursday 3rd October 2024 at the age of 32.

She was confirmed dead through a Facebook publication that said “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our America team members and friend, Chelsie Sonneborn, who passed away yesterday.”

Chelsie graduated from Jacksonville High School in 2010, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey dedicated to helping others. From her early days, Chelsie exhibited a passion for service that would guide her through a fulfilling career as a first responder. After high school, Chelsie joined America Ambulance, where she spent seven years as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

During this time, she honed her skills in emergency response, patient care, and teamwork—essentials for anyone in the demanding field of emergency services. Chelsie’s determination to advance her knowledge led her to work toward becoming a paramedic, a goal that would allow her to provide even more comprehensive care to those in need.

In addition to her work with America Ambulance, Chelsie took on a new challenge with the Murrayville Fire Department. For two years, she served as a firefighter and EMT, gaining invaluable experience in fire response and rescue operations.

This dual role not only broadened her skill set but also deepened her commitment to her community. Chelsie thrived in the fast-paced environment, where quick thinking and decisive action were essential.

Chelsie is also survived by Jon Matthew Thatcher, the love of her life; two brothers, Dalton Sonneborn (Katie Sonneborn) and Brayden Sonneborn; Samantha Kitselman (Cody Kitselman), who has always been considered a sister to Chelsie and a loving family member to the Sonneborns’; bonus brothers and sisters of Jacksonville, Devin Killebrew, Jerelyn Rose, Carson Killebrew, and Aurora Killebrew; and two aunts and one uncle, Deb Armstrong, Mary Davenport (Terry Davenport), and Kevin Kinser (Misty Hauter).

She is loved by four nieces and nephews, several cousins, and maternal grandparents. funeral service will be held 12 PM Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with a burial at Oakwood Cemetery in Greenfield.
