Fitness instructor Candace Harmony Rivers of Oxford, Alabama, died after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

On June 19th, 2024, Candace shared that she initially went to the hospital for what she thought were kidney stones, only to be diagnosed with Advanced Stage 4B High-Grade Carcinoma cancer and blood clots in her leg.

Candace spent 20 years dedicated to the Health & Wellness industry, starting her journey at 19 when she began working at a local gym. She was grateful for the opportunity and for the mentorship of Tom Buzan, owner of Anniston Family Fitness Center, who guided her in mindset, health, wellness, and interpersonal skills.

Through mindset coaching, public speaking, fitness instruction, volunteering, and community outreach, Candace sought to empower others. While she ran a successful business, Candace felt there was always more she was meant to accomplish.
