Caleb Fitch Waddell AZ Accident, Matt Fitch’s son Caleb Fitch hospitalized in ICU after bike accident – GoFundMe

Caleb Fitch Waddell AZ Accident – Caleb Fitch, the 13-year-old son of Matt Fitch, is in critical condition following a serious accident on September 6, 2024, where he was struck by a car while riding his bike home from school.

Caleb was airlifted to Phoenix Children’s Hospital in critical condition, where dedicated surgeons and medical staff have worked tirelessly to care for him.

Miraculously, Caleb survived and is recovering in the ICU. However, the life-threatening injuries Caleb sustained are severe, requiring multiple surgeries with more to come.

Recent procedures treated Caleb’s traumatic head injuries, including multiple skull and facial fractures, a brain hemorrhage, and deep lacerations to his face, scalp, and body.

His right arm sustained severe soft tissue and ligament damage, which will require additional surgeries and skin grafts to repair the injuries. Although progressing, Caleb still faces a long road to physical recovery and mental well-being.

A fundraiser organized by family friend Heidi Harapko has been set up to help cover Caleb’s medical expenses and ongoing care. The fundraiser has already raised $8,755 of its $25,000 goal through 71 donations. The support includes a recent $50 donation from Rachel Whisnant and a generous $1,000 contribution from an anonymous donor. Harapko, the first to donate, contributed $500.

eidi Harapko shared her thoughts on Facebook, urging people to support Matt and his son: “Matt Fitch’s son was recently in a serious accident and is facing a long road to recovery, with multiple surgeries and therapy ahead. Your support, no matter how small, can make a huge difference for him and his family.”

The family is grateful for any assistance and asks for continued thoughts and prayers as Caleb fights his way toward recovery.
