BU Stabbing Investigation: 1 person hospitalized, stabbed near Boston University on Aug. 1
Following a stabbing near Boston University on Thursday, police said that one person was taken to a nearby hospital. The incident occurred around 11:45 a.m. in the vicinity of University Drive and Storrow Drive.
While Boston police confirmed that there had been a stabbing, they said that the Massachusetts State Police and the Boston University Police Department were in charge of the investigation. The scene was still active around 12:15 p.m., with state, university, and Boston police all spotted nearby.
While the investigation was still ongoing, a spokesman for the Boston University police department stated that “no one from BU” was involved in the incident. In an update released on Thursday afternoon, the state police stated that the victim had sustained serious injuries.
Following the stabbing, Boston police detained one individual and took him to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The state police concluded the man was not a suspect in the stabbing but took him into custody after discovering he had multiple outstanding warrants.
