Brian Coughlin Cazenovia NY Death – According to a statement that was published on the Facebook page of the vintage aircraft museum, a guy from central New York passed away on Saturday as a result of the plane that he was operating crashing close to the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome.
During a typical Saturday Air Show, Brian Coughlin, who was from Cazenovia, Madison County, was killed when one of the museum’s aircraft, a reproduction of a World War I Fokker D-VIII, “went down off the south end of the runway,” as stated in the post made by Aerodrome. It was said that Coughlin had been a volunteer and board member at the airfield for a significant amount of time.
A state trooper verified to the Times Union that at least nine agencies were sent to the scene of a plane crash that occurred on Saturday afternoon in the village of Red Hook, which is located in Dutchess County.
The disaster occurred at 9 Norton Road, which is the location of the aerodrome. Additional enquiries for information regarding the incident were not met with a response from the State Police.
It was stated by Mid-Hudson News that the plane fell into the woods across the street from the museum, causing it to explode into flames. The incident was reported at approximately 2:47 p.m., following the 2:30 p.m. start of the weekly display, and the fire was extinguished at approximately 4 p.m.
According to the statement made by the museum that has an airfield and provides frequent air exhibitions of historic aircraft, the Federal Aviation Administration has been informed, and the institution plans to refrain from providing any additional information until the investigations have been completed.
The aerodrome postponed the air show that was scheduled to take place on Sunday and the Saturday evening Night Shoot. Additionally, it will be closed on Sunday.
