UPDATE: Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa Incident – On July 18, 2024, at 3:55 PM, Atlantic City Police Department Communications Unit received a call from an anonymous male who claimed he was inside the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in possession of firearms and an explosive device.
Patrol officers responded to the scene, and along with Borgata Security, conducted a sweep of the building during which no suspicious individuals or devices were located.
Out of an abundance of caution, portions of the building were briefly evacuated. Patrons have been since been allowed back in the building and law enforcement has cleared the scene.

Police investigated a potential threat at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, leading to a heavy police presence.
Witnesses reported that the situation caused a lockdown, with the valet entrance closed and traffic redirected. Businesses inside, however, were allowed to stay open. By 5:30 pm, the situation appeared resolved and people were permitted back in.
Atlantic City police clarified this wasn’t an active shooter situation and promised further details soon. Police ask public to please stay out of the area.
