Ben Fairbrother Accident: An Edmonton, Alberta family is mourning the tragic death of a father of two killed in a crash on Friday.
Ben Fairbrother passed away in an accident involving an SUV and a motorcycle on September 13, 2024.
Ben’s wife, Melissa Linnen-Fairbrother announced the tragic death on Facebook; “I’m devastated to let everyone know that last night my girls lost their dad in a terrible accident. Please keep Ella and Georgia in your hearts as they navigate this unimaginable loss.”
Law enforcement agencies were called to the scene of a collision at the intersection of 118th Avenue and 139th Street late Friday afternoon. According to the police, arriving officers found a 51-year-old motorcycle rider suffering from crash trauma. He was rushed to the hospital where he died. Authorities said the passenger in the SUV sustained a minor injury following the crash.
According to the Edmonton Police Service, Fairbrother was on his motorcycle and was headed east on 118th Avenue when he struck the SUV that was headed south on 139th Street. “The motorcycle’s speed is believed to be a factor in this collision,” law enforcement said.
Ben was a resident of Edmonton, Alberta, he was a caring father of two girls and a loving husband to Melissa Linnen-Fairbrother, of Regina, Saskatchewan. Ben was a former Canadian Football League player and a former great standout offensive lineman with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
