Anthony D. Robinson, 56-Year-Old Fruithurst Resident Dies in Cleburne County After His Car Hits Building

A man was killed when he drove off the road and hit a building early Sunday morning.

Anthony D. Robinson, 56, of Fruithurst, was driving in Cleburne County at about 12:22 a.m. when his 2005 Ford Escape ran off the road and struck a building, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

“Robinson was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene,” the agency said in a press release Sunday.

Robinson was driving on Cleburne County 49, about 14 miles northeast of Heflin in Cleburne County, when the crash happened, according to the agency. An investigation is underway.
