He was announced dead in a social media post that read “Wednesday I posted about a good friend who passed. It is who many of you know, Andy Saunders. For those interested his service will be Monday, August 26th at 11 at Platte Woods Methodist Church.”

Thomas A. and Eula “Bea” (Miller) Saunders welcomed Andrew Miller Saunders into the world on April 3, 1963, in Washington, D.C. Andy completed his studies at Park Hill High School and the University of Missouri in Columbia, where he obtained a degree in Economics.
He had a long and fruitful career in the financial services sector thanks to his sharp mind, strong work ethic, and sincere love of people. Over the course of his more than 35-year career, Andy served as a senior vice president at Raymond James Financial and worked as an investment advisor for Morgan Stanley.
Throughout his career, he cultivated relationships with clients, colleagues he mentored, and friends that held special significance for him. He served on the board of the Third and Long Foundation for a long period and was incredibly giving with his time, talent, and treasure.

Andy was a very selfless and kind man who prioritized the needs of his friends and family. He was the eldest child’s idol and his wife’s best friend. He will be known as a quick-witted, attractive, intelligent man who loved life. One thing about Andy that stood out the most was his sense of humor. His clever one-liners could make any situation funnier. Everybody Andy met, no matter where he traveled, he became friends with right away. We shall really miss him.
On June 5, 1999, on Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, Andy wed Elizabeth “Beth” Saunders, his wife of twenty-five years. Their five children, Lindsay Dee Saunders, Andrew Miller Saunders, Jr., Cooper John Saunders, Anne Murrow Saunders, and Elle Leigh Saunders, all adored and missed their father. To his three siblings, Thomas Saunders, Daniel Saunders, and Melinda Waide, he was a loving brother.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Andrew Miller Saunders on August 26, 2024. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. at the Platte Woods United Methodist Church, 7310 NW Prairie View Rd. Platte Woods, MO. Graveside services and burial will follow at the new Parkville Cemetery. Following the graveside service, the family will host an open house and visitation at their home. All are welcome to attend.
