Adrian Foody Obituary, Beloved son and friend died from complications of liver disease

Adrian Foody Obituary – Adrian Heinz Foody, 32, died suddenly on Tuesday, May 7 from complications of liver disease, in Charleston, S.C. Adrian was born April 1, 1992, to Wendy Hopwood and John M. Foody, Jr. He will be sorrowfully missed and never forgotten.

He grew up in Sewickley, graduated from Quaker Valley High School and attended Pace University in New York City. Adrian was a smart, generous, funny, and outgoing boy. He lit up every room with his spontaneous jokes and impressions. He furiously collected beanie babies, army guys, Pokmon cards, Lego sets, and friends.

He loved American history, the Civil War and debating hot political issues. He had a strong faith in Jesus and was active in church youth groups. He joined mission trips including Hurricane Katrina cleanup.

At age 15 he made a pilgrimage to Israel, the only minor in a group of scholars from the Trinity School for Ministry. As an adult, Adrian built a large and amazing collection of rare athletic shoes, Urban Street Wear, and rare concert tee shirts.

Throughout his life, Adrian was quick to give away the very best of all these collections. He loved traveling to music concerts and festivals and had friends all over the world.

In his teens, Adrian began experimenting with drugs and alcohol. This use progressed and eventually took control of his life. We watched his talents and ambitions become overtaken. We never gave up on Adrian and loved him unconditionally.

He completed numerous lengthy rehab treatment programs, but sadly, he could not sustain his recovery efforts. He never lost his sweet and caring nature. He loved his family and friends and reached out to check on us every single day.

Adrian is survived by his parents, Wendy (Victor Tonas), and John (Sandy); siblings, John (Aileen), Sarah, David, and Megan; nephew, Jack; niece, Charlotte; grandmother, Sandra Foody; godmother/aunt, Kathy Foody Malus (Alan); and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his beloved and doting grandmother, Thelma Hopwood (aka: Baba).

Memorial contributions may be made to a wonderful and worthy organization that Adrian loved dearly. Adrian loved Tess because Tess was Love.
