Thursday afternoon during a traffic stop on a Connecticut highway, a state trooper was struck by a car and died as a result. According to the Connecticut State Police, Trooper First Class Aaron Pelletier was struck by the passing car when he was outside his cruiser on eastbound Interstate 84 in Southington, close to exit 31.
According to officials, the motorist fled the area after hitting Pelletier with the passing vehicle. Police eventually located the driver and apprehended him.
